Everything on the Beogram 1500 is controlled from a single pushbutton panel on the top surface, handling power, radio, tape, and gramophone functions, alongside separate rotary controls for volume (with built-in balance), bass, and treble. The deck itself is a three-speed design, covering 78, 45 and 33⅓ rpm, and is fitted with B&O’s own SP14A pickup on a low-mass, S-shaped tonearm, tracking at between 1.5 and 2.5 grams. A hinged transparent dust cover is fitted as standard, giving the unit a clean, elegant appearance in keeping with B&O’s design language of the period. Around the back, sockets are provided for connection to a radio tuner and to a tape recorder, meaning the Beogram 1500 could sit at the heart of a small system when paired with something like a Beomaster tuner, or record and play back via a companion deck such as the Beocord 1500. A built-in voltage selector allows switching between 110, 130, 220 and 240 volts AC, and this example’s rear panel confirms compatibility across that range.

Important Owner’s Notes
This unit is now over 50 years old, and its internal electrolytic capacitors are original. While the record player is currently working correctly, it is now a classic history piece and should not be used as a “daily use machine”
