I have supported and worked with Yamaha Hifi and Home cinema since 1987, so have knowledge on all models of DSP amps etc, and have a real love of their products, ethos etc.
However, with regret, I now need to cease taking their under warranty repairs. I also need to cease taking the top end DSP products in/out of warranty.
All I get is grief from other shops customers, always the most difficult repairs and no re-imbursement, so it’s impossible to let this continue.
I am fed up of spending my time, my money on parts and my money on return carriage for un-appreciative people who either fail to do all the tests to identify that there isn’t actually a fault (very commonly the case), or expect me to solve the most fiendish fault on the most technically advanced product with a short turnaround, when spares take upto 6 weeks to come….
I wouldn’t mind if it was the occasional difficult repair in amongst a bunch of easier ones….. but I haven’t seen a nice one in over a year now.
I recommend now any of these types of repairs go back direct to Yamaha as they have access to all the panels/parts much easier than we dealers do.

Please don’t think I’m a typical moaner, it’s just the frustration of the situation when I’m trying to run what is now a very busy workshop. By all means ask me the question and I’ll always give you my best opinion on a fault.
