Eversolo DAC-Z10 – Flagship DAC, Fully Balanced Preamplifier & Headphone Amplifier

The Eversolo DAC-Z10 is a flagship standalone digital-to-analogue converter designed for high-quality digital and analogue systems. Its dual-mono DAC architecture, three independent linear power supplies and fully isolated internal layout are combined with a genuine analogue R2R volume control and fully balanced preamplifier stage. With extensive digital connectivity, analogue inputs and a dedicated headphone amplifier, the DAC-Z10 can operate as the centre of a serious Hi-Fi system rather than simply as a standalone DAC. Supplied brand new.

Description

Flagship Conversion with a Dual-Mono Architecture

  • Independent AKM conversion for each channel using separate AK4191 + AK4499 DAC combinations for left and right.
  • Eversolo’s Fully Isolated Architecture – FIA™ separates the digital and analogue sections to reduce unwanted electrical interference.
  • Three independent linear power supplies provide separate power for the left channel, right channel and system circuitry.
  • Fully balanced internal architecture from conversion through to the preamplifier stage.
  • R2R resistor-array analogue volume control maintains signal integrity across different listening levels.
  • OCXO temperature-controlled master clock, PLL technology and FPGA clock reconstruction provide a carefully controlled digital timing system.
  • Supports an external 10MHz or 25MHz master clock for systems using dedicated high-precision clocking.
  • Large 8.8-inch IPS display provides a clear interface for settings, input selection and playback information.

High-Resolution Digital Audio

The DAC-Z10 is designed to accommodate both conventional Hi-Fi sources and modern high-resolution digital transports.

USB-B and IIS support audio up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512, while AES/EBU, coaxial and optical connections support PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit together with DSD64 via DoP.

The IIS connection also offers eight selectable configurations, helping improve compatibility with digital transports from different manufacturers.

A Fully Balanced Analogue Preamplifier

The DAC-Z10 is more than a digital converter. Both balanced XLR and RCA analogue inputs are provided, allowing traditional analogue sources to use the unit’s preamplifier section.

Its fully balanced preamplifier offers up to +10dB analogue gain and uses the R2R resistor network for volume adjustment.

Balanced XLR and RCA preamp outputs allow the DAC-Z10 to be connected directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers, making it possible to build a high-quality system without requiring a separate preamplifier.

Dedicated Headphone Amplifier

A separate headphone amplifier is built into the DAC-Z10 with a front-mounted 6.35mm headphone connection.

  • Automatic headphone impedance detection
  • Low, medium and high gain settings
  • Recommended headphone impedance: 16–300Ω
  • Up to 1 watt into 16Ω
  • Up to 1 watt into 32Ω
  • Approximately 0.16 watt into 300Ω

This gives the DAC-Z10 useful flexibility with everything from relatively easy-to-drive headphones to higher-impedance designs.

HDMI ARC & Flexible System Integration

An HDMI ARC connection makes the DAC-Z10 suitable for integrating television audio into a main Hi-Fi system, while trigger input and output connections allow compatible components to switch together.

Bluetooth reception is also included using a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth module, providing convenient wireless playback from phones and tablets.
