Description

The 752 is a two-way bass-reflex design built around a 170mm (6.5-inch) High Definition Aerogel bass/mid driver and a 25mm (1-inch) dome tweeter, crossed over at 2.3kHz. The Aerogel driver material — an ultra-light, highly rigid cone construction — was a significant development in Mission’s driver technology, contributing to the speaker’s characteristically fast, articulate bass and transparent midrange. The front baffle is inclined to eliminate phase shift near the crossover frequency, a detail that contributes to the speaker’s coherent, focused stereo imaging.
The cabinet is constructed from 25mm-thick MDF using Mission’s TFCT (Angle-Cut Cabinet Technology), with extensive internal bracing and visco-elastic damping materials to control panel resonance. The slim, tall-boy proportions — just 200mm wide — make the 752 a room-friendly floorstander that occupies minimal floor area. Three small reflex ports are positioned at the foot of the bass driver, and the cabinet sits on an integral plinth with adjustable spikes.
The 752 is bi-wire capable, with four gold-plated terminals on the rear panel. As supplied, these are bridged for conventional single-cable connection, but can be separated for those wishing to experiment with bi-wiring or bi-amplification.
With a sensitivity of 90dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the 752 is a relatively efficient and amplifier-friendly load. Mission recommends an amplifier of between 35 and 150 watts per channel. The design is best positioned relatively close to the rear wall — around 30cm or so — where the boundary effect reinforces the carefully tailored bass alignment. The 752 has a reputation for being position-sensitive; careful placement pays dividends in bass weight and overall coherence.
