The Pioneer PL-12D is a genuine classic of 1970s hi-fi, introduced in 1973 and one of the best-selling turntables of its era, helping to bring belt-drive vinyl replay within reach of a much wider audience. It remains a firm favourite with collectors and vinyl enthusiasts today, prized for its combination of simple, robust engineering and genuinely capable performance. This example is fitted with a Shure cartridge and has been fully checked and tested by Andrew in our workshop.

This turntable is now over 50 years old. As with all vintage decks of this type, drive belts, motor grommets, and the lift mechanism’s damping are age-affected items, and while the deck has been checked and tested as working correctly, we would recommend keeping an eye on belt condition over time as part of normal ownership.
