C³ Continuous Curved Cone™ Drivers
At the heart of the 3040c are two 120mm C³ mid/bass drivers. Q Acoustics developed the Continuous Curved Cone profile to combine the bass characteristics of a conventional straight-sided cone with the controlled midrange behaviour of a flared design.
The result is designed to provide good dispersion, controlled bass and smoother integration between the mid/bass drivers and tweeter.
Concept-Inspired High-Frequency Design
The 22mm tweeter takes design principles from Q Acoustics’ more expensive Concept loudspeakers.
It is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the main front baffle, reducing the amount of vibration and internal cabinet pressure reaching the tweeter assembly. Its vented rear chamber also helps reduce distortion and allows smoother integration around the crossover region.
Cabinet Engineering
Q Acoustics uses P2P™ bracing inside the cabinet to reinforce areas particularly susceptible to low-frequency vibration.
The 3040c also employs HPE™ Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser™ tubes, designed to reduce pressure build-up and standing waves inside the taller floorstanding enclosure.
A low-profile rear terminal panel with recessed binding posts keeps connections neat and helps the speaker sit relatively unobtrusively within a room.
