The Rega Brio-R is an analogue integrated amplifier combining a compact case with a phono input for moving-magnet cartridges. Its four line inputs provide room for a CD player, streamer and other analogue sources. This example is in A2 condition, presenting in great overall condition, and has been checked and tested by Callum. No remote control is included. See below for an enhanced description.

The Brio-R brings Rega’s amplifier design into a compact format that suits a dedicated two-channel system. Its uncluttered controls keep everyday use straightforward, while the circuitry reflects considerable attention to the power supply and signal path.
Rega’s design uses Sanken Darlington output transistors with a low-impedance driver stage, alongside revised low- and high-current supplies. The remote-control circuitry has its own supply, separating its operation from the audio circuitry. These are meaningful engineering details in a modestly sized integrated amplifier, rather than a long list of extra functions.
The built-in moving-magnet phono stage lets a suitable turntable connect directly, without a separate phono preamplifier. Four RCA line inputs accommodate other sources, and a fixed-level record output supports recording equipment. A toroidal transformer forms the heart of the power supply.
This is the Brio-R generation: it has no built-in DAC or headphone socket. A digital source therefore needs an analogue output or an external DAC. Volume and input selection are available on the front panel; the remote-only mute function is unavailable without a compatible handset.
