The C-77 preamplifier is the control centre of the system, offering a comprehensive input complement that includes both moving-magnet and moving-coil phono stages — the MM input accepts 2.5mV at 47kΩ, whilst the MC input is sensitive down to 0.1mV at 10Ω, making the C-77 compatible with a wide range of cartridges. Two tape monitor loops, a tuner input, and an auxiliary input are also provided. Tone controls offer ±10dB at bass and treble frequencies, with an infinitely variable loudness contour, high and low filters, and a mono switch. A source cross-fader is fitted, along with a mute function and front-panel headphone socket. The preamplifier outputs to the power amplifier via standard line-level connection.
The B-77 power amplifier delivers 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms (RMS, 20Hz–20kHz), with 70 watts available at 1kHz. Frequency response extends from 5Hz to 70kHz, and total harmonic distortion is quoted at just 0.03% — figures that demonstrate a clean, low-noise design with ample headroom. The amplifier can drive two pairs of loudspeakers simultaneously, and an LED peak display with spectral analyser and auto-dimmer provides visual feedback of output levels. The B-77 draws 330 watts maximum and is built on a chassis measuring 430mm wide.
The T-77 is a digital synthesizer AM/FM stereo tuner covering 87.5–108MHz on FM and 525–1605kHz on medium wave. Signal-to-noise ratio is quoted at 68dB on FM and 45dB on MW, with 60dB selectivity. The digital tuning scale provides accurate frequency readout, and the tuner offers both automatic and manual station selection.
Together, the three units present a coherent and capable system that offers genuine flexibility: the MC phono stage allows direct connection of a low-output moving-coil cartridge without an external step-up transformer, the tone controls and filters permit tailoring of the sound to room and source, and the power amplifier has sufficient output to drive most loudspeakers of the period with authority.

Summary
The Sansui B-77, C-77, and T-77 form a complete and well-matched separates system from the early 1980s, offering a moving-coil phono stage, 60 watts per channel of clean power, and digital synthesizer tuning in a trio of cosmetically matched chassis. This set is in great overall condition with minor marks consistent with age. This is a three-unit set listed as a single lot. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions prior to purchase.
