This is a single, new old stock (NOS) tweeter unit for the Tannoy Sixes series of loudspeakers, supplied in its original Tannoy Genuine Spare Parts packaging. The unit fits the Tannoy 603, 605, and 607 (original Sixes series, 1991–1993). The Tannoy part reference for this tweeter within the Sixes range is 0251; it was superseded by the 0260 unit used in the Mk II versions of the same speakers (603 II, 605 II, 607 II, 1993–1994). Buyers replacing a tweeter in a Mk II model should confirm which version they have before purchasing. This unit has been inspected and tested by Callum in our workshop.

Condition: New Old Stock — The unit appears unused. The aluminium dome is undamaged, the protective mesh grille is intact and undisturbed, and the housing shows no signs of installation or use. The original Tannoy Genuine Spare Parts box is present, showing age-related wear consistent with long-term storage. Please refer to our photographs for a full assessment of condition.

Key Features

The 0251 is a 25mm gold anodised aluminium dome tweeter in a distinctive hexagonal black housing designed to mount directly into the Tannoy Sixes cabinet baffle. The aluminium dome diaphragm offers low mass and high rigidity, characteristics suited to clean, extended high-frequency reproduction. The unit crosses over at 3kHz in the first-order crossover networks used throughout the original Sixes range, and is rated at 8 ohms nominal impedance with a sensitivity of 88dB at 2.83V/1m, consistent with the full-range specification of the 603, 605, and 607.

Replacement tweeters for the original Sixes series have become increasingly scarce. This NOS example, in its original packaging, represents a direct like-for-like replacement for a failed or damaged unit in the 603, 605, or 607, and is of particular interest to owners wishing to maintain their speakers in original specification.
