A Compact Yamaha System for CDs, Radio and Portable Sources
This Yamaha system combines the CRX-040 CD receiver with a pair of NS-BP80 speakers and the remote control. The receiver brings together source selection, playback and amplification, making it a practical choice where space is limited. The separate speakers can sit beside the main unit or be spaced apart for stereo listening.
- CD playback: supports audio CDs and compatible CD-R/RW discs, including MP3 and WMA recordings.
- DAB/DAB+ and FM radio: this UK version offers digital and analogue broadcast listening, subject to reception and local station availability.
- USB playback: play compatible MP3 and WMA files from suitable USB storage devices.
- Front 3.5mm portable input: connect an external source with an appropriate analogue audio output.
- Top-mounted iPod dock: designed for compatible older dock-connector iPods. Check your particular device before relying on dock playback or charging.
- Headphone socket: a front-panel connection provides an option for personal listening.
Speakers Designed for the System
The NS-BP80 speakers use 10cm full-range drivers in compact, ported cabinets. Yamaha’s Advanced YST and VCCS cabinet design form part of the original system engineering. Each speaker is just 122mm wide, helping the set fit into a bedroom, study or other modest listening space without a full-width rack of components.
Condition and What Is Included
Stock reference 8789 is graded A3 — good used condition, with cosmetic marks and signs of use on the receiver and speaker cabinets. The main unit, pair of speakers and remote control are included. Checked by Andrew.
